On 6th March, the people of the Ga South Municipal Assembly joined the rest of the nation to celebrate the 69th Independence Anniversary of Ghana, a day that reflects the country’s enduring journey toward freedom, unity, and development.
The commemoration brought together traditional leaders, assembly officials, students, and residents from across the municipality to reflect on the sacrifices of the nation’s forefathers, led by Kwame Nkrumah, who declared Ghana’s independence in 1957. The celebration served as a reminder of the values of patriotism, hard work, and collective responsibility needed to build a stronger nation.
During the event, participants highlighted the importance of community development, education, and civic responsibility in shaping the future of the municipality and the country as a whole. The Assembly reaffirmed its commitment to implementing initiatives that improve the lives of residents and contribute to national progress.
As the red, gold, and green flag flew proudly across communities in Ga South, the celebration reinforced a shared belief that the spirit of independence remains alive in the determination of citizens to work together for a prosperous and united Ghana.
