39TH FARMERS' DAY CELEBRATION AT GA SOUTH MUNICIPAL ASSEMBLY
The 39th farmers day celebration took place at the Ga south Municipal Assembly on the 8th of November, 2024. The event highlighted the pivotal role farmers play to the development of the country at large. The assembly took pride in acknowledging that farmers serve as the most contributing factor in enhancing food security and supporting the local economy. The event featured farmers from various communities within the municipality, including Ngleshie Amanfro, Langma, Balagonor, Tuba, Bortianor and kokrobite, showcasing the area’s agricultural diversity.

WORKING VISITS TO THE METROPOLITAN, MUNICIPAL AND DISTRICT ASSEMBLIES(MMDA’S) IN THE GREATER ACCRA REGION
On Wednesday, the 20th of November, The business regulation reform unit from the ministry of trade and industry paid a working visit to all MMDAs in the Greater Accra region as part of its coordination of a comprehensive reforms in the administration of building/Development permits in Ghana. The focus of the visit was to discuss the possible operational challenges that may impede the development of a Unified Electronic System of Permitting, infrastructure/IT readiness and needs for the adoption and use of a Unified Electronic System for Permitting, check the availability and quality of local plans and the availability of requisite skill set for effective service delivery.

ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH UNIT EDUCATES PUBLIC ON CHOLERA PREVENTION MEASURES
In response to the rising threat of cholera in some communities, the Environmental Health Unit initiated a public sensitization campaign which was aimed at equipping residents with essential knowledge and practices to prevent the spread of the disease. The campaign was launched to help educate the public on cholera prevention, proper hygiene practices, and the importance of clean water and sanitation.

SERVICE DELIVERY STANDARDS IN THE LOCAL GOVERNMENT SERVICE
The human resource department organized a training to educate selected staff on public service ethics and values within the Local Government Service. The training focused on service delivery standards in the Local Government Service. In attendance were staff from the Development Planning Unit, Budget Unit, MIS Unit and Social Welfare and Community Development and some selected staff from other department. The training was facilitated by the Human Resource Department of Ga South Municipal Assembly.
