The Ga South Municipal Assembly successfully held the Tuesday segment of its Sod Cutting of New Projects Programme,
marking a significant step toward improving healthcare and education within the municipality.
The day’s activities began at Odunkwa, where officials, community leaders, and residents gathered for the sod cutting ceremony
for the construction of a proposed CHPS compound. The project is expected to bring essential primary healthcare services closer
to the people, improving access to medical care and strengthening community-based health delivery
Later in the day, the programme continued at Jek Krodua, where the Assembly performed another sod cutting for the construction of a two-storey, six-unit classroom block with ancillary facilities. The new school infrastructure is expected to help reduce overcrowding in classrooms while creating a more conducive learning environment for pupils in the area.
The ceremonies formed part of a broader development initiative by the Assembly aimed at expanding access to key public services across the municipality. Under the leadership of Municipal Chief Executive Moses Kabu Kubi Ocansey, the Assembly continues to implement projects that respond directly to the needs of local communities.
These efforts align with the national development agenda championed by John Dramani Mahama, President of the Republic of Ghana, which prioritizes investments in healthcare, education, and infrastructure to improve the lives of citizens. The successful completion of Tuesday’s programme set the tone for the remaining sod-cutting activities scheduled across the municipality, reinforcing the Assembly’s commitment to sustainable development and improved service delivery for the people of Domeabra Obom Constituency
