The Minister of Sanitation and Water Resources Hon. Cecilia Dapaah together with her entourage paid a working visit to the Ga South Municipality. On Wednesday 23rd October 2019 to inspect various sanitation key spots in the Municipality
She was accompanied by the Municipal Chief Executive, Municipal Coordinating Director, Municipal Environmental Health Officer, Municipal Finance Officer and other Heads of Departments/Unit to inspect Galilea market, transfer station, the central container site and Tuba junction (Toll Both).
She interacted with a cross section of sellers in the market on how to keep their refuse under hygienic condition temporarily before the designated collectors come for them. She also advised the fish sellers to cover their products with sieve to avoid flies from coming into contact with it.
At the transfer station, she congratulated the motorized tricycle riders for covering the refuse during transportation to avoid littering as they move to the dump site. She again congratulated Sisbros Waste Company Limited for covering the land fill sites.
At Tuba junction, she encouraged the hawkers to keep their surroundings clean as they sell food to their customers.
The Minister recommended that the Assembly provides the toll both with additional dustbins since that area generates lots of refuse daily.
The Minister commended the Assembly for a good job done in terms of sanitation in the Municipality and urged management to continue with the good work.
