The safety of staff, equipment and data is of utmost importance in the administration of local governance. To ensure this, security infrastructures need to be installed to guard against breaches. In this regard, the Human Resource Department with support from management conducted a day training program on basic security measures. This training is aimed at sensitizing staff on various security tips and what to look out for when on the Assembly premises.
The objective of the training was to equip security personnel and MIS staff of the assembly on basic security tips for both physical and cyber security and how to neutralize security breaches when they occur. In attendance were Security Personnel and Management Information System (MIS) staff of Ga South Municipal Assembly.
The training was facilitated by National Investigations Bureau (NIB) Ga South Divisional Commander, Emmanuel and Fire Service Officer with support from the Human Resource Department of Ga South Municipal Assembly.
This training program was informative and very educational. The Human Resource Department recommends that the additional sessions be organised for the broader staff population. The Department equally recommends that management reviews security fixtures such as fire extinguishers and emergency exits and equally perform ocassional fire drills to ensure staff are adequately aware of what to in emergencies.
